This was an email I recently sent to an existing customer whom we repaired a bosch washer for and consulted on a Bosch Dishwasher problem
Key Points of video are
- 1-2 litres of white vinegar
- Turn Washer onto 60-90 degree wash (without prewash/rinse)
- Pour white vinegar carefully into soap draw after it fills (only open draw about an inch, a funnel could help)
- Let machine finish, Then leave door open at least an inch(do this everywash)
- Hopefully the nasty niffs should be gone.
So what causes a washer / washing machine to be smelly
- the pump can not drain all water away, so some gets left behind & goes stagnant
- washers use less water but people still use same amount of soap & conditioner & the appliance gets caked up with residue & goes moody especially with door closed.
- limescale traps bacteria and can break off during wash cycle
Smelly Washer Preventative key points
- Use Soda crystals / Calgon
- Do a hot service washer with towels(once a month)
- leave the door open, so it can dry & gets rid of humidity.
- wipe door & washer seal after every wash, prevent black mould build up!
